Mile Marker Brewing

 I discovered St. Augustine’s Mile Marker Brewing partway through 2010. Not for myself, mind you. There are only two or three beers I like {the Creme Brulee Stout at JP Henley’s being one}. I’d much rather drink water with a squeeze of lemon. But my hubby of 14 years loves beer almost as much as he loves Jesus and me. That’s a lot. So when I read about a new brewery opening in our town, my interest was piqued.

 We slipped out late one night, maybe 9:30 ish.  It’s in an industrial “warehouse” area near the St. Augustine Outlets (SR16 & I-95) so from the outside you aren’t quite sure what to expect…

We walked in to a good time… waaaay more atmosphere than I expected!  Cedar walls, some early 90s rock on the “juke box” and games of virtual golf were keeping the dozen or so people moving around between bar & the requisite dart board.  Everything was clean, people were laughing, mixing and discovering “new favorite” brews.  Best part?  The sweet bartender offered me Sangria when she learned I don’t like beer.  It was a good night.

Mile Marker Brewing currently offers three brews at their Tap Room and at several St. Augustine area restaurants- an IPA, a Red Ale and a Kolsch (summery pale ale).  In keeping with the Florida theme, the names are: Mile Marker 82 Islamorada IPA, Mile Marker 1565 Ancient City Red Ale and Mile Marker 0 Key West Kolsch.

The Tap Room is open Wednesday through Sunday from 1:00 pm – ??.  You can always give them a call before heading down to confirm.
