Blogs influence the marketplace.  In fact, Fox News reports that in relation to celebrities, "people are more influenced by the opinion of a blogger (yes, just a regular human being) when it comes to learning more about products or making a purchase." But if you're a blogger, you already knew all that! Simply St. Augustine posts contain affiliate links. The season is here. The season for holiday weight gain that is. I have seen the same cycle happen for 20 years. Kookaburra Coffee

Kookaburra Coffee

Kookaburra is my favorite coffee shop in St. Augustine.  No contest!  Spencer and Meg are the friendly owners and I’ve loved every cup of locally roasted, Bold Bean coffee I’ve ordered.  My summer fave was the Coconut Latte… but now that it's winter, I'm forcing myself try some other flavors... like the the Hot Chocolate Bar Meg rolls out on Nights of Lights weekends.  Expect … [Read more...]

St. Augustine’s Old Jail

Oldest Jail in the USA

It's a whole new kind of put-prisoners-to-work program... The Old Jail in St. Augustine has prisoners from the 1890's keeping the grounds, guiding tours and even entertaining the kids! Our family headed to The Old Jail last weekend to check out this local attraction.  At first, Georgia Anne (4) was afraid to go to jail... by the time we left, she was begging to go back!!  Hopefully she outgrows that... When you arrive to the Old Jail part of the Old Town Trolley complex, a clock shows what time the next tour will start.  You'll likely have plenty of time to walk … [Read more...]

Pumpkin Martini Harrys St Augustine

There are many reasons to enjoy Harry's Seafood, Bar & Grille when you're in St. Augustine.  For starters, they have white lights and great live music year round, not just during Nights of Lights.  Another reason: a great sea breeze blows into the courtyard through the open gates, making it feel like the holidays even when the rest of the city is dripping with 97% humidity!
