Wood Mark Watches Bring Classy Timepieces to St. Augustine

Wood Mark is a local company who is excited to get the word out about their sustainable wood watches. I'm happy to promote these timepieces, as I've shared in my disclosure.  I LOVE MAIL! Don't you? It's so fun when packages appear on our doorstep... even though they're usually for my hubby. I'm computer savvy- our family has 2 businesses whose success largely depends on social media and online marketing. But I hate shopping online. So packages on the porch always say Mr. Simply. Never Mrs. Simply. Until today... and it had a St. Augustine postmark... I opened a … [Read more...]

RECIPE: Healthy Juice Pops for Hot Florida Days!

Time with cousins is the best! We road tripped down to Lake Wales for a summer visit with lots of great people: my kids great-grandma, their great-aunt & great-uncle, Aunt Jadi and some grrrrreat cousins! Lake Wales is nestled in central Florida- and boy is it hot! It's often 5-10 degrees warmer there than at our St. Augustine address! We cooled off one day at Legoland's water park but the rest of the time we hung out with family and tried to keep cool. The heat is good for citrus- Polk county is the top citrus producing county in the entire state! But it's bad for … [Read more...]

Bonez Smokehouse

** Update: Some things are too good to be true... Bonez Smokehouse is now closed. :( ** Like all good Southerners, we like BBQ. We've tried our fair share and it's pretty close to impossible to choose one favorite. Smokin' D's is the cutest BBQ joint around, Mojo's is downtown which means great walks around town after dinner and they have great brisket. THE most important thing in a BBQ restaurant to me is... well, I'll get to that. But Bonez aces it and that's why Bonez Smokehouse is my current fave BBQ in St. Augustine!! Here are 5 reasons for YOU to fall in love with … [Read more...]

4th of July in St Augustine

4th of July Fireworks in St Augustine

St. Augustine will be a busy place Saturday, July 4, 2015- let SimplyStAugustine make your day easier!  I've compiled a list of where to watch the fireworks in St Augustine and also some ideas to keep the kids busy while you're waiting. First, you must know that roads close late evening but even before that it gets pretty congested.  So plan to spend the whole afternoon in town, snag your preferred viewing spot early and r-e-l-a-x.  Repeat after me: I will not honk.  I will not honk.  I will not honk.  ;) Parking is easy getting in to the parking garage if you … [Read more...]

Family 4th of July

St. Augustine boasts a spectacular fireworks display every year.  Here's how can you make the St Augustine fireworks 2015 a memory to retell year after year: Where to View Fireworks in St. Augustine The green in front of the fort.  Arrive early to claim a spot!  Although fireworks won't launch until after dark (traditionally between 9:00 & 9:30) the oldest city packs out for hours beforehand!  Enjoy live music while you wait and a lot of neighborly fun as everyone gathers on the green.  Show lasts 20 minutes and is accompanied by music- it's a fantastic display!  … [Read more...]
