Who’s writing this blog?!

Hi- I’m Allie O.  I’m a proud Floridian… born & raised in the Sunshine State.  And I’m so glad St. Augustine is where we’re raising our family- it’s a great place to call home.

A little bit about me (or, my qualifications to write a St. Augustine Travel Blog):

• I’ve lived in Florida all my life {well, except 6 months in Blackshear, Georgia.  In 7th grade.  That was bad.}
• We’ve had a St. Augustine zip for 7+ years and have been “regulars” for as long as I can remember.
• I’ve been married 14 years to the same amazing man & we’ve lived here on the First Coast the whole time. {read: Lots of experience with romantic St. Augustine getaways.}
• Hubby = outdoorsman.  He helps me stay in touch with which charter captains are bringing in the fish, which golf courses have the most shade but fewest hazards and where to sink your heels when you just want to stare at the water for a while.
• I’m Mamma to six children, from a baby girl to a teen boy. {Vacationing with kids?  I’ve got that covered.}
• I lead a homeschol co-op and our family homeschools year round so we can travel at will. {Thus the slowly growing Road Trips section of the blog.  And if you have questions on mixing some education in with the fun, just ask on our facebook page!}
• I LOVE good food. {If there is an amazing restaurant in St. Augustine I haven’t been to, will you please take me?!}
• We’ve been a single-income family for 12 years.  So we’ve learned how to have a good time on the cheap but splurge occasionally for great memories!
• I write online for Compass, The St. Augustine Record’s local paper
• As a blogger, I’ve been involved in many social media influencer events, the Social Media Club of Jacksonville, the Jacksonville Bloggers Group & St. Augustine Bloggers Group.  My goal is to remain current with social media trends so as to best promote my site and those of local businesses!
