Would you like the inside scoop on where to get a sweet treat to cool off as we are approaching the summer in Florida? St. Augustine is not lacking in the cool treats category! It’s a sweet tooths paradise from ice cream, gelato, dole whip, and more!
What do we have here? Dole Whip has found it’s way to St. Augustine.
The Original Likit has the famous soft serve Dole Whip you find in other popular locations! Walk right up and get your treat with tables behind the stand to enjoy your delicious treat while resting your weary feet. If The Milltop has some live music, you will be able to enjoy it from this lovely courtyard.
Ice Cream is one of America’s cool treats for summer.
Ice cream is practically on every corner of St. George Street. There are two Kilwin’s locations with the smell of waffle cones wafting the air and drawing you in for just a “sample” and next thing you know you are walking out with a double scoop salted caramel cone. Did you know that’s one of their most popular flavors? I highly recommend it if you have not had a chance to give it a try. You also have Tedi’s Olde Tyme Ice Cream, Baskin Robbins, and other small shops offering cool treats.
How did waffles make it on a cool treats post? Waffles and Milkshake go hand-in-hand in St. Augustine in this case you just cannot enjoy one without the other!
Who can pass up a fresh homemade popsicle made with the freshest of ingredients? Our personal family favorites are the strawberry and key lime! If they are out of your favorite at their location on St. George, head on down to their larger location on Charlotte Street to see if they have what you crave. Of course, on the way to The Hyppo, you will go past the Cousteau’s Waffle and Milkshake Bar with the waffle smell making it next to impossible to pass by without giving one a try. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. This place fills up on a busy night, so if you cannot find a spot to enjoy your cool treats continue to the bayfront and enjoy your treat as you test your skills at dolphin spotting.
Gelato even the name sounds scrumptious!
Are you a gelato fan or would you like to try some? Stop by Cafe Del Hidalgo or Gelato Time Gelateria Italiano on St. George Street to try one or more of their delicious flavors.
Peace Pie sandwiches offering more variety than what we used to eat as a kid.
Peace pie offers a unique ice cream sandwich like none other! Check them out on Aviles Street for a different twist on cool treats.
