New Year, New Face at Simply

Hi, Simply family! Allie O. here. After years of sharing the best of St. Augustine with you, our family has moved out of state! I’m still around the site here but, to make it the best resource for YOU, Heather is coming alongside me and will eventually take over Simply St.Augustine. Many of you already know her… but I’ll let her officially introduce herself to you here. Love y’all lots! Thanks for being awesome! ~Allie O.

One of Heather’s St. Augustine photos… she’ll be bringing new perspective to the blog this year!

When Allie O. asked me to begin writing for Simply St. Augustine, I came up with 20 different topics to share. Overzealous? Maybe… or just so excited to share how much we love vacationing in St. Augustine!

Here’s a glimpse of my to-write list…

We will get to that list soon enough! First things first! Who is this new face of Simply?

New year, new views from different eyes… but St. Augustine remains the same gorgeous place!

If you have been following Simply for long, we have already been introduced! Allie posted she was looking for contributors and moderators back in 2016. I have been a regular contributor sharing our adventures, budget friendly deals, and fun things to do with a family while in town on vacation.

Me and my sweet family… Viva family & Viva St.Augustine!

My family and I are not permanent residents yet, but have been coming to town regularly for over 14 years. We are the Professional St. Augustine Tourists and look forward to sharing what we’ve learned over the years with you!

He fell in love with fishing before he fell in love with St. Augustine… 😉

We currently reside on the Florida/Georgia border where hubby, Jeff, and I are full time teachers. As you can imagine this keeps us busy throughout the school year, however we still find time to come to town frequently to celebrate special days and vacation in the summer.

A few years ago, we made the transition from regular condo vacations at St. Augustine Beach and Butler Beach to a home on wheels that we pull into town… here’s a sneak peek:

It was not an easy decision for this beach lover to leave my oceanfront view… however, I can say camping has been the best decision we made as a family. I still get my beach time at Vilano Beach and am able to vacation in St. Augustine more frequently.

Look for upcoming blog posts about our “glamping” adventures as we highlight our favorite campgrounds around St. Augustine. Life is always an adventure with this crew! I look forward to sharing the adventures with you!

~Heather

Hi we booked our daughters destination wedding at The Treasury in Downtown St Augustine for October 2019. We prefer to rent a luxury beachfront home for our family for our stay instead of a hotel, inn or condo. Can you tell us which is the best powder beachfront area to rent homes and someone mentioned staying over the lions gate bridge would be close to our venue and ideal location. Any input would be appreciated

      Hi Iny-

Casa Monica Hotel is just a block from your venue and is hard to top as far as luxury… but it’s not on the beach. If I were to stay in a beachfront home, I’d check with Bayfront Marin (a B&B just a couple of blocks from your venue with riverfront views). They have oceanfront homes for rent in addition to their finely appointed B&B suites.

Congrats on your daughter’s upcoming marriage! I pray their union will be blessed.
      Allie O.
