6/1 – First Friday Art Walk

Live music, refreshments offered at most galleries, artists present to discuss their works… the First Friday Art Walk is a perfect evening to meander St. Augustine’s lovely historic streets and enjoy balmy Florida evenings.  Galleries remain open until 9.  Park on the street (the Parking Garage is on the N end, most galleries are on the S end of Historic St. Aug).  Eat early or make reservations- First Fridays are busy nights in the Oldest City!

6/2 – Drake’s Raid

This tent looks harmless enough… but the brigands who are camped inside will be responsible for the pillaging and burning of St. Augustine Saturday night.  Visit The Fountain of Youth from 10 am – 5 pm to see drills & demonstrations by the soldiers.  Then, at 7:00, witness the hoard ransaking and burning the city from the City Gates to the Plaza!  It’s a sight to behold.  Here is more information on Drake’s Raid in St. Augustine.

6/6 – Music by the Sea

The St. Augustine Beach Civic Association sponsors the free concert series, Music by the Sea, every Wednesday night from now through September 26.  Each week, a local restaurant offers a meal priced under $10 for an easy picnic under the stars.  This week, enjoy GAS Full Service Restaurants’ goods with your Rock & Roll.

6/7 – Pirate Talk

Thursday marks the 426th Anniversary of Drake’s burning of St. Augustine, and city archaeologist Carl Halbirt will give a presentation on “The Legacy of El Dragon: The 1586 Raid of Sir Francis Drake” to mark the occasion. The presentation begins at 7 p.m. at the St. Augustine Art Association, 22 Marine St.

Farmers Markets

Don’t forget St. Augustine’s 3 weekly Farmers Markets.  Wednesday at the Pier (St. Augustine Beach), Saturday is Old City Farmers Market at the Ampitheatre & North Beach Arts Market at Vilano Beach (3-7 p.m.  3721 State Road A1A).  Sunday is Lincolnville Farmers Market.  Go Local!  Shop for produce raised here on the First Coast.
