The beaches of St. Augustine and St. Johns County offer a wide variety of options. Some allow motor vehicles requiring a toll or pass to enter while others are pedestrian only beaches. Whatever you are looking for, you can find a beach to meet your fancy at a SJC Beach. The beach driving passes are on sale now until March 1 for residents and non-residents alike! This weekend is a taste of what’s to come with warmer temperatures rolling in seems like a perfect time to start planning for warmer beach friendly days ahead.

Vehicle Access Ramps
Access may be limited due to beach conditions and possibly limited to 4 wheel drive vehicles. Follow SJC beaches on Twitter and Facebook for daily driving updates. I personally would not recommend taking anything other than a 4 wheel drive vehicle on the beach. You really don’t want to end a nice day at the beach with a tow truck bill!
If driving on the beach makes it easier for you, here are the points of entry to the SJC beaches that allow vehicular traffic.
- Porpoise Point
- A Street
- Ocean Trace
- Dondanville Rd.
- Matanzas Ave.
- Mary St.
- Crescent Beach
Here’s a post we did awhile back about driving on the beaches you may find helpful on your quest to find the perfect spot!
