The beaches of St. Augustine and St. Johns County offer a wide variety of options. Some allow motor vehicles requiring a toll or pass to enter while others are pedestrian only beaches. Vehicle Access Ramps

Access may be limited due to beach conditions and possibly limited to 4 wheel drive vehicles. Follow SJC beaches on Twitter and Facebook for daily driving updates. I personally would not recommend taking anything other than a 4 wheel drive vehicle on the beach. You really don’t want to end a nice day at the beach with a tow truck bill!

If driving on the beach makes it easier for you, here are the points of entry to the SJC beaches that allow vehicular traffic.

  • Vilano
  • Porpoise Point
  • A Street
  • Ocean Trace
  • Dondanville Rd.
  • Matanzas Ave.
  • Mary St.
  • Crescent Beach

Here’s a post we did awhile back about driving on the beaches you may find helpful on your quest to find the perfect spot!

Time to make plans now for your spring and summer trips! If you have questions about St. Augustine or need some advice on where to stay, send me a message at heathersimplystaugustine@gmail.com or comment below.
