Ripley’s Believe it or Not is Celebrating 99 Years Since Ripley’s First Cartoon
Ripley’s Believe it or Not is celebrating all summer long with their 99 Strange Days of Summer Photo Contest. Get your photo submitted for a chance to win and be sure to visit the Odditorium for some inspiration.
Ripley’s Believe it or Not is the the oldest permanent Ripley’s attraction housed in an old castle on San Marco Avenue. There are 20,000 sq feet packed full on three different floors with 800 oddities. Just like many structures in St. Augustine the architecture in the building is original and phenomenal.
Ripley’s Red Train Tour Celebrates its 65th Year
After touring the oddities, it’s time to hit the town and see what else the Nation’s Oldest City has to offer. Ripley’s Red Trains run during the day stopping at 20+ stops every 15 minutes allowing on and off privileges throughout the day. The tours are each unique to the driver speaking on the same destinations, but each putting in their own “extras” as one of the drivers calls it. The tours are not scripted and we have learned something new every time we take them. The tickets can be purchased for 1, 2, or 3 days depending on your plans. Be sure to check out the deal they have for Senior Citizens!
During the evenings, they turn into Ghost Trains offering a different perspective on the town. Be sure to purchase a combo ticket or show your train tickets to receive a discount and book early because the ghost trains sell out quickly each day!
Minature Golf on the Bayfront
For the competitive folks, Ripley’s has the oldest miniature golf course in the entire state of Florida. Tickets are reasonable and they offer a discount when you show your train ticket or sticker! The views and breeze from the bayfront make this a family favorite. There’s not a lot of shade offered, but they do have some drinks and ice cream to help you cool down while waiting for the train to come back by and pick you up.
