St. Augustine Community Chorus Celebrating 70 Years

The St. Augustine Community Chorus is continuing their 70th year celebrations next month with a special gala and concerts.  It’s time to dig out your dancing shoes and floral attire to help them celebrate on March 8th at the Riverview Club. Tickets are on sale now for the Bursting with Blooms Gala and I Hear America Singing performances on March 16th and 17th.

Bursting with Blooms will be Bursting with FUN!

The gala is sure to be a crowd pleaser with food, drinks, dancing, and of course live music by the Chris Thomas Band. The band is well known around the Saint Augustine area and are excited to help support the arts.  The night will be a night to remember complete with a silent auction. Condo stays, centerpieces, and more will be on the auction block! Dinner and dessert will be buffet style for all to enjoy while supporting a worthy non-profit organization.

St. Augustine Community Chorus

The St. Augustine Community Chorus is one of 12,000 professional and community choruses across the country. It is an art that is still widely enjoyed by musicians and audiences alike. Have you been looking for your place and a way to enjoy the arts?  Check out their page for how you can become a part of the chorus! The chorus meets each Tuesday at the  Memorial Presbyterian Church and is accepting applications for new members to join for the upcoming masterwork season.

Help the St. Augustine Community Chorus and the St Augustine Orchestra celebrate this new venture by planning to come out for their performance! Unable to make it to these performances? Be on the lookout for another opportunity in May to see the chorus as they perform in Daytona on May 4th and St. Augustine on May 11th as a collaborative effort between the Bel Canto Singers of Daytona.

You will have another opportunity to hear the  St. Augustine Orchestra as they wrap up their 57th season on May 10th at the Lightner Museum/Alcazar Cafe. Tickets are on sale now to reserve your seat!

If you would like to donate items for the silent auction or make a monetary donation to such a worthy cause, click here to find out how you can help support the chorus in St. Augustine.

As a former chorus member, I have many fond memories of using my gift to perform beautiful pieces and look forward to their upcoming performances. Want to know more? Have an event you would like to see promoted on Simply St. Augustine? Give us a shout out at heathersimplystaugustine@gmail.com.
