Tiny Town: St. Augustine Holiday Village

This weekend you need to stop by the Art Association to see this amazing display depicting St. Augustine. The miniature St. Augustine Holiday Village is on display at the Art Association Gallery just through Sunday, December 29.

Each year, Mr. Lenny Ruel delivers his beautiful hand made wooden holiday village to the art gallery for the association to display just inside their front windows overlooking the entry walkway. You can spy the village as you enter the gallery.

We were delighted to stumble upon this amazing display and meet Mr. Ruel and his lovely wife. Many years ago, they honeymooned in St. Augustine and have enjoyed many trips to the area. For the last 26 years,  they have called St. Augustine home. During this time, Lenny has been enjoying his woodworking hobby creating scaled replicas of many familiar buildings around St. Augustine.  During the holidays, the village is on display at the Art Association and throughout the year it is displayed in his home for his guests and family to enjoy.

If you see Mr. Ruel, tell him hello from us at Simply St. Augustine! We enjoyed our time learning about his life in St. Augustine and his creation of such an amazing display.
