Palencia Pirate Ship Park

** UPDATE: Palencia’s Pirate Ship Park is no longer home to this big, wooden ship. They’ve gone to a newer style play space ideal for younger children. **

Next time your kiddos are being crazy and you’re tempted to tie ’em up & tell ’em to walk the plank, load them up instead and head to the Pirate Ship Playground at Palencia.

This mixed use park offers something for everyone- from baby swings to ball fields.  It’s about a mile into the Palencia development off US1 (before the gate) and there is a Starbucks on the corner of US1 & Palencia Village Drive! Bonus!

As homeschoolers, we call trips to the park “lunch & PE”.  On this birthday trip, we brought subs from Firehouse Subs & the birthday kid got one free!

Believe it or not, my favorite feature at Palencia’s Pirate Ship Park is not the pirate ship.  It’s the completely fenced playground.  I also like the way the park is designed for all ages.

Our littlest is comfy in the baby swing- she kicked her shoes off & chilled here for most of the time!

The tire swings nearby are fun for one, two or three kids- but not for this mamma who gets sea sick on them!

The big kids play manhunt {aka tag for my old school readers} and have a blast climbing over and under structures.

Then there’s Andrew.  He’s just chillin’.  LOL

Equipment at Palencia Park: a rock wall, slides, pirate ship, monkey bars, baby swings, tire swings, regular swings, fireman’s pole… and basketball, soccer & baseball fields nearby.

Another huge perk of Palencia Park- clean bathrooms!

We were about to head out when Lauren spotted this rainbow in the sky.  What a perfect ending to a beautiful day at the park!

Until next time, Pirate Ship Park!

I would like to get some information about reserving the multipurpose field to organize a sports day event for a non profit organization called Jacksonville Tamil Mandram. We have conducted the same sports day event last year too at the same park. Please contact me ( Rajee ) @ 904-303-3207 to talk more.
